Our current projects: A snapshot of now
back to Jobs and careers

This is an exciting time to join us.
We have some very significant improvement projects on the go, such as
new clinical buildings, new ways of delivering services - including
regional and primary care collaboration - patient safety projects, and
improvements to our technology infrastructure.
New facilities
Our $430 million building programme has created modern facilities at our
Thames Hospital and a new Thames birthing unit (completed), a new home
for ED and acute medical care at Waikato Hospital (completed), a new
clinical centre that will house outpatient clinics (to be completed
2014) and a new older persons and rehabilitation building just over the
road from Waikato Hospital (currently being built).
Patient safety programme
Our patient safety improvement programme draws together international
best practice and local staff knowledge in a series of projects to
improve the quality of our patient services.
Health and organisational targets
More than ever before, we have a clear idea of our aims - a series of
targets - some set by our board and chief executive, and some by the
national Minister of Health.
You can read about these in our annual plan and annual report.
