back to previous page
Outstanding submissions have seen two members of the Waikato Hospital Pharmacy team receive nominations in the 2011 New Zealand Pharmacy Awards.
The New Zealand Pharmacy Awards celebrate and acknowledge achievements, on a national level, within the pharmacy industry. This year the black-tie-event will be held in Auckland on Saturday 18 June.
Pharmacist Piyush Grover has been nominated for ‘Young Pharmacist of the Year’, an award which recognises entrepreneurial initiative within the pharmaceutical industry.
Piyush was nominated for his submission ‘Antibiotic prescribing in general medical patients at Waikato Hospital’.
Pharmacy manager, Jan Goddard made a submission covering the strategies put in place over last five to six years to improve the role of the pharmacy technician within Waikato DHB hospitals.
Jan’s application, ‘Advancing the role of the pharmacy technician within Health Waikato hospitals’, has been nominated for the ‘Hospital Innovation Award’.
The Hospital Innovation Award recognises the challenges facing hospital pharmacy in the new business environment. It is awarded to the most interesting and successful innovation by a pharmacist in secondary care.
Well done to both Piyush and Jan. We wish you both all best for the awards night.
