Agewise seminar April 2009

This year's Agewise seminar was themed "Social Connectedness for Older People".  Social connectedness has been shown to a have positive impact on wellbeing, while conversely social isolation comes with health risks.

The presentations from the seminar showcase different approaches to helping older people stay socailly connected across the Waikato region and include adult education for older adults, careers following retirement,  primary care services and staying socially connected in residential care.

Feedback from the seminar was overwhelmingly positive and those who could not attend to listen to our inspiring panel of older people missed a treat.
