Our Mental Health and Addictions Service is the largest provider of mental health and addictions services in the Waikato and in the wider Midland region of New Zealand.
The Waikato is one of New Zealand's most relaxing regions. Its location in the centre of New Zealand's North Island puts you in easy reach of - well, everything you want.
Hamilton city has the best of modern urban life, with restaurants, bars, theatres, art, sports events and academic facilities. It's only 1.5 hours by car to Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, or 1 hour by plane to Wellington.
On the other hand, we've got recreation and relaxation on our doorstep - a lake right across the road from Waikato Hospital, a river winding through the Waikato region, beautiful beaches close at hand, skiing or mountain walks for the weekend, cafes, farmers markets and character rural villages.

Our approach
Our aim is: “Supporting people to work towards their own recovery”We work collaboratively with a range of providers that are committed to providing high quality user-focussed services. This co-operative approach helps to build an environment where comprehensive, integrated mental health care is delivered. This regional network includes mental health services in other Midland district health board, primary care providers, Maori communities, and other public and non government organisations, mental health service providers, service user groups, families and support groups.
