The purpose of the CNS gerontology role is to:
  • Provide specialist nursing care and expertise in direct care and in support of other staff managing complex older adults.
  • Research, evaluate and develop standards of nursing practice for the care of older adults
  • Lead the development of pathways, protocols, and guidelines in the care of older adults.

This website showcases Waikato’s aged care sector and is the result of a joint workforce development project between community aged care providers and the Waikato District Health Board and is supported by Craig Climo Waikato DHB chief executive for its ability to positively promote careers in aged care.
