Pacific HEHA Plan 2008/10

80.9 per cent of Pacific males and 82 per cent of Pacific females in New Zealand are overweight (MoH, 2003). If there is to be a real impact on rates of non-communicable diseases, obesity must be addressed.

Waikato DHB has established a Pacific HEHA Community Action Group to provide support and advise on the implementation of the Pacific HEHA Workplan and the wider HEHA programme.

Funding available for Pacific health projects

Waikato DHB is calling for expressions of interest from organisations wishing to apply for the next Pacific Community Project Fund.

The maximum amount available for each project is $10,000 plus GST.
