HEHA’s Nutrition Fund is a Ministry of Health initiative that aims to support projects and initiatives within school communities and early childhood education centres that focus on providing environments that support healthy eating and improve nutrition.

Since November 2007, Waikato DHB has undertaken five rounds of this funding and allocated financial support to 58 projects across the district, involving 71 schools and 24 early childhood centres.

There will be no further rounds of the Nutrition Fund.

HEHA is looking to achieve more of a balance between increasing physical activity and improving nutrition.

Current Nutrition Fund projects will continue to be funded and the HEHA Education Group will continue to monitor progress and provide advice and support.
