Postgraduate funding opportunities

Clinical Training Agency (CTA) offers postgraduate funding opportunities to registered nurses.

This funding, offered by CTA, is an exciting and positive opportunity, offered to registered nurses to pursue postgraduate education.

CTA is the funding arm of the Ministry of Health (NZ). Waikato District Health Board manages this large budget. Applications for funding are made annually to the postgraduate nurse coordinator of the programme.

The funding covers the cost of each paper, some travel and accommodation and some clinical release time which is paid to employers if they release staff.

Registered nurses who meet the criteria set by CTA, are eligible to apply for the funding. These applications must be accompanied by a career plan to ensure that the study being undertaken meets the health targets of Waikato DHB. Applications are submitted around October, and are for the whole of the following year.

At present there are approximately 353 registered nurses enrolled in postgraduate education at Waikato DHB. You could be one of them!
