Urology Services

Urology Services Ltd (USL), a joint venture company owned by Urologic Ltd and the Waikato District Health Board, provides urology services for the Midland region... This differs from all other clinical services at Waikato Hospital, as USL employs the urologists.  The resourced facilities provided by Waikato District Health Board include all nursing, junior medical and allied health staff, operating theatres, clinics etc.  Clinical services are at Waikato Hospital and the surrounding regional hospital facilities. The urologists have specific interests in the fields of reconstruction, malignancy, stone management, incontinence and uro-dynamics. They also act as a tertiary referral centre for the areas of Gisborne and Taranaki.

Who we are:

• Four consultants
• Two registrars (including one advanced trainee position)
• One house officer
• Trainee interns and students.

Teaching programme:

• Weekly urology/radiology meetings
• Fortnightly pathology meetings
• Monthly oncology meetings
• Weekly presentations covering M&M, journal club, interest topics, research etc.
