Tokoroa Hospital
Tokoroa Hospital is a busy rural facility situated in the South Waikato District, Central North Island.
Just
over one hour by road from Waikato Hospital in Hamilton, Tokoroa
Hospital provides a range of general services to the catchment
population of the South Waikato district.
The South Waikato is home to 22,641 people broken down into Putaruru 6201, Tirau 2196 and Tokoroa 14,244.

Forestry and pastoral
farming, particularly dairying, are the predominant activities in the district with around 20% of the workforce employed in forestry and
agriculture and another 28% employed in manufacturing associated with
these industries.
Approximately half of the district is
covered in forests, most of which is plantation forestry and the
southern and western boundaries are bordered by the Waikato River.
Many
recreational activities centre on the forests, streams and hydro lakes
including bush walking, hunting, fishing, mountain biking, water
skinning trout fishing. There is also a strong network of clubs,
providing many opportunities from sports to theatre. |

Facilities
The
Tokoroa Hotel Services department provides a wide range of services and
amenities that help improve the environment for patients and staff.
These services include a cafeteria, which is open from 8am-2pm.
Visiting
Visiting hours are 1pm -8pm with flexible hours for the family /whanau of unwell inpatients.
