Visiting

Visiting hours are 11am - 8pm daily

Visitors play an important part in your wellbeing and comfort. It is also important for your relatives and friends to keep in contact.

After hours visitors must access the hospital via level 1, Waiora Building (as all other doors will be locked) and obtain a security pass.
Map and parking information

Please note that many wards have a rest period (the time varies from ward to ward - sign posted at entry to ward). Please contact staff in the area you are visiting for further information.

Visitors are welcome at other times in some areas. Please check with the clinical nurse manager / clinical midwife manager of the area.

  • Visitors are requested to leave promptly at the end of visiting time.

  • Visitors are limited to two per patient at any one time. If more than two visitors, this must be arranged with the clinical nurse manager / clinical midwife manager or his / her deputy.

  • Visitors are not permitted to bring into the hospital any drugs, stimulants or alcohol.

  • Visitors shall at all times behave in an orderly manner and shall obey the clinical nurse manager / clinical midwife manager or his / her deputy.

  • Visitors' children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

Visiting

Smoking

Health Waikato has a Smokefree policy.

All visitors, outpatients and contractors wishing to smoke must do so outside Waikato District Health Board grounds.

For support to become smokefree  please ask our staff to refer you to the stop smoking service.


Violence

Verbal or physical abuse will not be tolerated on our campus.
