Fatal crash PutaruruThe condition of the 42-year-old Putaruru woman involved in this head-on collision today is serious.She is in Waikato Hospital's intensive care unit. Box 934 Hamilton 3240 Ph: 07 834 3684 Mobile: 021 705 213 www.waikatodhb.govt.nz Westpac Air Ambulance reportAt 7.30am this morning the Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance was dispatched to a head-on-collision on SH1 between Putaruru and Lichfield. The two vehicles both had sole occupants, unfortunately one driver died at the scene. The other driver, a female (approx 30-40yrs) was cut from the wreckage by Fire Rescue staff. St John Paramedics described her condition as critical. She was airlifted from Putaruru High School (low cloud prevented the helicopter from landing on scene) to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.We here at the Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance have a policy of keeping the media informed of our work.
