Patient updates

Earlier today you would have received two releases from the Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance.

The following patient updates from Waikato Hospital:

Kerepehi:
a man in his 40s in critical condition in intensive care unit
a 15-year-old girl stable in a ward
a 15-year-old old girl stable in Thames Hospital - all from Tauranga and in the car.

Taupiri:
a 52-year-old man heading for theatre, serious condition (motorcyclist)
a 3 years 4 month old in our intensive care unit, scheduled for transfer to Auckland Starship Hospital (passenger in car) - both from South Auckland

Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance

At 3:30pm the Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance was dispatched to a road accident near Taupiri, South of Huntly on SH1. Details of the accident were not clear at the time. We airlifted a man, approx in his 50's, with multi-system trauma injuries to Waikato Hospital. St John Paramedics described the man's condition as
critical.  A critically injured baby was road transported from the scene by St John Ambulance, also to Waikato Hospital.

At 10am this morning the Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance and the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter were dispatched to a high speed road accident near
Kerepehi, South of Thames. Details of the accident were not clear at the time. We transported a man in his 30's, believed to be a driver,  with a head injury to Waikato Hospital. St John Paramedics described the man's condition as critical. A seriously injured female was flown to Waikato by the Auckland Helicopter.
