Youthtown Rescue Helicopter - Motorcycle accident

Further to the Youthtown Trust Rescue Helicopter release, the man is in a critical condition in Waikato Hospital's intensive care unit.


Early this morning the Taupo based Youthtown Rescue Helicopter was called to a motorcycle accident on Tram Road just off State highway 1, a few km north of Taupo.

A father and son had been riding their motorbikes in the early hours of the morning and both had left the road, crashed down into a gully.

When they did not return home, their son/brother drove out to find them. He found them at the bottom of the gully in a serious condition.
It is not know how long they had been there. St John Paramedics stabilised them at the scene before transferring them into two waiting 
helicopters.

The Youthtown helicopter transported the son to Waikato Hospital and The Baytrust Rescue Helicopter from Rotorua took the father to Rotorua 
Hospital.
