Taupo Rescue Helicopter release

At 10 o'clock last night the Youthtown Trust Rescue Helicopter responded to a call from the Medical Centre at Whakapapa ski field, a 41-yo man fractured his ankle and sustained multiple abrasions when he fell 200 meters down a snow face while climbing down from the crater.

He was treated by St Johns Advanced Paramedics and flown to Waikato Hospital for treatment the flight was safely accomplice with the aid of Night Vision Goggles.

Further to this release from the Youthtown Trust Rescue Helicopter, a 41-year-old Australian is stable in a ward at Waikato Hospital with two fractured ankles, multiple abrasions and bruising.

He is expected to undergo surgery sometime this week. He was in New Zealand on a skiing holiday.
He's asked me to co-ordinate any media requests which he will consider later today.
