Box 934 Hamilton 3240 Ph: 07 834 3684 Mobile: 021 705 213 www.waikatodhb.govt.nz Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance26/7/2009 The Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance was called out to Kawhia tonight to the scene of a motorcycle crash on Te Puia Rd. A man and a woman were riding at night, without helmets, when they failed to successfully navigate a turn. The man lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a fence post. The female pillion rider, was thrown from the bike and sustained neck injuries. The man suffered upper back injuries. Due to the seriousness of the injuries, it was deemed prudent to transport both patients simultaneously; the Air Ambulance is normally configured for one patient. Both patients were flown to Waikato Hospital in the care of St John Ambulance Paramedics. |
