Waikato Hospital celebrating 125 years

Norovirus update - Waikato Hospital

There have not been any new patient cases of diarrhoea and vomiting in ward 5 over the last 24 hours, but seven patients continue to have symptoms.

There is one further staff member off sick. Staff are still required to remain off work for 48 hours after symptoms stop.

The medical officer of health today instructed that signs and posters be displayed prominently in all Waikato DHB hospitals. So the attached is at Waikato Hospital in Hamilton; Thames, Te Kuiti, Taumarunui, Tokoroa, Matariki (Te Awamutu) and Rhoda Read (Morrinsville) hospitals.

Again the message is clear to visitors - stay at home and don't visit hospitals if you have any of the following:
  • a cough
  • a runny nose
  • sneezing
  • aches
  • fever
  • diarrhoea (the runs)
  • vomiting.
