Waikato Hospital GM takes Top Award

Grant Howard, group manager Waikato Hospital with Ruapehu District Council chief executive officer David Hammond received the award for equal top graduating MBA students 2008 at Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) graduation.

"There are tools you acquire while doing an MBA, like project management, that are extremely valuable and globally applicable to what happens in health care operations," says Dr Howard.

Dr Howard was one of 28 students graduating this year at MIT with a Southern Cross University MBA delivered at MIT.

"There are MBA programmes run in the area but the flexible learning style available at MIT made the MBA absolutely feasible for my busy lifestyle," he says.
