Gerry Devlin wins Kudos award

Waikato Hospital's clinical director of cardiology Dr Gerry Devlin last night won the Medical Science award at the Kudos Awards ceremony in Hamilton.

The award was for the research he is doing with AgResearch on heart attacks.

Waikato DHB had two other finalists in the awards. Shailesh Kumar was a finalist in the Medical Science award category for his research into the burnout of New Zealand psychiatrists.

Thodur Vasudevan was a finalist in the Science Entrepreneur award (for the second year running) for the tabletop training simulator he's developed for training vascular surgeons.
