Celebrate your hospitals changing face
Waikato Hospital is holding a Summer Celebration this Saturday (9 February) 10am-1pm outside its new main entrance and carparking building in Hamilton.
A jam-packed programme has been set for the day including the NZ Fire Service who at 10.30am will rescue Health Waikato chief operating officer Jan Adams from the top of the new eight-storey carparking building.
A ‘Top Doc BBQ Cook-off’ will liven up your lunchtime as three doctors battle it out on the barbecues to see who will win the ultimate ‘top doc’ title.
There’ll also be performances by Waikato DHB’s Kapa Haka group and stand up comedy acts by our very own Dr McSquirter who was a star of the hospital’s revue show last year.
Dr McSquirter (aka Waikato DHB social worker Malcolm Foster) will keep you entertained with his eccentric Scottish persona and observations of life in the health sector and at Waikato Hospital.
Come to the Summer Celebration at Waikato Hospital and you’ll not only be one of the first to see inside the new buildings but you can take the opportunity to be given guided tours through facilities such as the linear accelerator, mobile breast screening and dental units plus learn about exciting hospital innovations and projects.
You’ll also have the chance to:
