Nurse educator, Professional Development Unit
I am a nurse educator and Careerforce assessor working in the Professional Development Unit as part of this team. I also have a role as nurse coordinator Practice Development working with leadership and gerontology programmes.

Areann Libline
Clinical nurse specialist, Mental Health and Addictions Services
My current role is clinical nurse specialist – service quality improvement which means I do a lot of audits and reports. I am also the co-ordinator for the Safe Practice Effective Communication training, and the Level 3 NZQA Certificate in Health and Wellbeing – Mental Health. I have a strong interest in reducing the use of seclusion in mental health to the point of eliminating it.

Maria Prendergast
Nurse educator, Thames Hospital
I am the nurse educator for Thames Hospital and Community. I am a Careerforce educator for both the Professional Development Unit and also for local external sites. I am also the clinical Wintec tutor for our undergraduate students when on placement in Thames.

Stephen Harvey
Attendant, Waikato Hospital
Kia ora. Ko Stephen Harvey ahau. I have worked as an attendant/orderly for over 25 years and I was one of the original graduates at Waikato Hospital for the Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Orderly Services (2016). I have a Diploma in Adult Education and I am the Careerforce assessor and programme teacher/organiser for the attendants (orderlies) training for this certificate at Waikato Hospital.

Nicola Syrett

Kia ora. I work as a nurse educator in the Healthcare Support Development Team. I have a passion for building capacity in our health workforce and supporting people of all backgrounds to reach their full potential. Iti rearea teitei kahikatea ka tae.

Nicky Nelson
Nurse educator, Professional Development Unit
Kia ora, ko Nicky toku ingoa. My mahi is varied in the Professional Development Unit, with my main focus being on growing, supporting and retaining Māori and Pasific nurses within our DHB. I have an assessor background and look forward to using my skills within the healthcare support team.

Suzie Gardner
Nurse coordinator, Professional Development Unit
One of my work streams in the Professional Development Unit is within the Healthcare Support Development Team. My role is to assist with education for the study days and to complete assessments.
