Community Alcohol and Drug Service

Position No. 51003-96428

If you are New Zealand registered with a postgraduate diploma in Clinical Psychology or overseas equivalent this is an opportunity to take up a position in a service committed to improving the quality of life and outcomes for a group of service users with addiction and co-existing mental illness.

You would be part of a multi-disciplinary team who welcome the contribution the psychologist makes to the treatment approach.

Experience working with people with a addiction and co-existing mental illness is essential.  You will have a sound theoretical base and operate from a formulation-based and evidence-based approach.  Previous experience in the addictions field is preferable but not essential.

You would be part of a small but growing addictions psychology specialty within a vibrant and supportive psychological community.  We have close links with the local Clinical Psychology Programme (University of Waikato) including a joint initiative in a training and research clinic (The Psychology Centre).  We take your continuing professional development (CPD) seriously with an offer that includes a healthy CPD allowance.

The service is committed to a treaty-based framework and the will and ability to work effectively with Maori is essential.  Full orientation and induction programmes will be provided to the successful applicant.

You must have a current New Zealand drivers licence.
