We are looking for two nurse managers to fill newly created roles in our service clusters: Cardiology Cardiothoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery, and General and Speciality Surgery.  As nurse manager, you will have responsibility for professional and business performance of nursing services in your cluster.  The roles report to the nursing director, Waikato Hospital and will work in partnership with senior medical staff.

The nurse manager role is for someone who is strongly focused on improving patient flow processes and creating a safe, effective and productive work environment.  You will need to have a current nursing practising certificate (APC) plus experience in planning, aligning resources to patient needs, managing budgets and staff, handling quality, innovation and systems issues, and building effective relationships while having an understanding of the political environment in health.  You will also need a good knowledge of the cluster service/s you apply for.
